Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Grant Accountant to oversee accounting for a diverse and robust portfolio of government contracts and grants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in fund or nonprofit accounting, including hands-on work with multiple government-funded programs.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookups, logical functions).
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage Intacct, Blackbaud Financial Edge, MAS 90, NetSuite, or Oracle.
  • Strong analytical abilities, mathematical accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial issues clearly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage fiscal and administrative functions for a diverse portfolio of grants and contracts.
  • Reconcile general ledgers, prepare adjustments, and ensure compliance with GAAP, OMB, and grant requirements.
  • Prepare and submit billings, drawdowns, and required financial reports for federal, state, and local programs.
  • Oversee Time & Effort reporting and salary distribution adjustments.
  • Support budget planning, proposals, modifications, and matching requirements.
  • Assist with audits, reviews, site visits, and preparation of required schedules and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve grant accounting processes and systems.
  • Conduct fiscal reviews of subcontractors and provide training on grant compliance and reporting.
